All staff are volunteers. Volunteers will speak with the clients over the phone, via email, or meet with them in person in the office. After listening to the clients concerns, all practical support and guidance is provided to the mother to help her carry her pregnancy to the birth of the baby. We are not here to change her mind, we are here to give her compassionate and factual information so she can make an informed decision for herself and her child. Information and support for parenting and adoption is given. We uphold the philosophy that: "It is the right of every pregnant woman to give birth and the right of every child to be born." Office is open 3 days per week, Mon - Wed. - Sat. shifts 2-3 hours. Volunteers are asked to fill 1 to 4 shifts per month; scheduling is flexible.
In addition to meeting with clients, you would be encouraged to use your personal gifts and talents that you may find helpful to the Birthright mission.
Training is scheduled in one hour sessions, 4 sessions total. Training is provided before you have any contact with the clients. You and trainer work out a schedule that fits your schedule.
